Keeping it Real: Stay Positive!

I can’t even begin to express the trails my family and I have gone through the last two weeks. But at the forefront we lost a family member to cancer, Aunt T. She was an amazing woman. She loved you the way were, and she told you like it was. She gave the best advice. She was like another mother to my husband and I. She died surrounded by family who adored her. David and I both got very ill, and Isaac got an eye abrasion. Dealing with an autistic sweet boy who is so upset that his schedule is out of wack because there is no school in summer. Amongst other things that bombard me on the day to day. It’s been a real struggle.

I wish I could tell you that life will get easier, but I am living proof that it doesn’t. But that’s why I am writing today. Being that life is tough, we have to set our eyes on the simple good things and focus on the positive. Waking up each day to two of my favorite tiny humans is one of my favorite things. Looking at my husband and him smiling at me while the chaos of our kids is running around us. Going to church and having a friend say they are praying for you. Talking to your mom about things and enjoying time with her. Seeing the changes you have made to better eating to better health. All positive and good things we can focus on- instead of the bad.

It’s too easy to focus on the weight we haven’t lost. Or the fact that we are not the perfect parent. Or the perfect wife. The people that we have lost and hole that they leave when gone. People who say that they are our friends but don’t take the time to be one. So many negatives, sometimes more often than not the negatives out way the positives- that is why focusing on the positives is so important.

I have said before that we need to feel good about ourselves. That is so true. We can be our own worst enemy in this fight to become healthy by letting the negativity win. Don’t do that. Don’t be like that. Know that you are Worth it. You have people who would be lost without you. You carry with you a great importance for the world you live in. Your health is not just about you, those you care and love you want you healthy too. You can do this. You got this. So what if the world is throwing negative bombs at you, be brave walk through them remembering what I just said. You are worth it!
