LET’S BE SERIOUS ABOUT SERIOUS THINGS

Happy Tuesday before Christmas everybody.  I can happily say that I am finished shopping and wrapping except for 4 little gifts yet to be delivered.  How about you?  Are your Christmas plans going smoothly?

Well, I didn’t sit down to write about Christmas gifting.  I want to talk about something I read today on Instagram which is much more important.  I follow a site called @daddygotwell and he quoted Ann Wigmore who said something quite profound.  “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.”  Wow!  She pretty much hit the nail on the head.

We have talked about artificial sugars, processed food, the unhealthy and unnatural products that manufacturers put in food and the unhealthy gardening practices of today’s agriculture business.  All of these things are slowly killing us by polluting our bodies and our fields and water supplies.  God created us to eat clean real foods, not synthetic artificial foods.  Our bodies do not know how to process these items.  We are making ourselves sick – liver disease, Type 2 diabetes, stunted growth in our children, premature hormone growth, cancers and many others.

I know that there will be many eating opportunities this season.  I’m not telling you that you can not enjoy yourself.  But be wise.  Pay attention to what and how much you are eating.  Try to eat cleanly every day so that when a party situation comes up, you can participate and not feel badly about what was in the food.  Also, don’t offend the hostess by asking what kind of food she used in preparing the dish.  If it is a pot-luck, bring a dish that you prepared with fresh, unprocessed ingredients.  It can be your go-to dish in case everything else looks artificial.  And remember – go easy on the sweets.  Yes, they taste good but sugar feeds cancer and yeast infections as well as causing other issues. Nobody is going to make fun of you for avoiding the sugary items if you don’t make a big deal out of why you aren’t eating them.

Eating cleanly can be an easy lifestyle and it fits in with everybody’s eating habits.  You eat whole foods prepared in a healthy manner.  Living this way can be your Christmas gift to yourself and your family.

I want to wish you and yours a very, merry Christmas.

Bye for now.

Debbie
